Come and hear from Dr Alex Tarter at CyNam 19.2

Our next CyNam community networking event takes place on Tuesday 4th June, within the Cheltenham Science Festival’s Helix Theatre. The conversation for this evening will be focusing on cyber security and the world of HealthTech.

To discuss this topic further, we are pleased to include Dr Alex Tarter, from global aerospace, defence, space, transport and digital security company Thales (thalesgroup.com), as a speaker. As Chief Cyber Consultant, Alex will be sharing his knowledge in his talk ‘Designing in Cyber Security’. With healthcare increasingly using technology to achieve life-saving and quality-of-life improving benefits, this talk describes the challenges and approaches to develop these critical products and systems.

With the second CyNam networking event of 2019 just around the corner, we are delighted to add another speaker to the agenda for our evening of ‘Cyber Security in HealthTech’: Richard Yorke, CEO of Deep3.

As specialists in designing and delivering mission critical software, Richard will be talking about the risks associated with importing untrusted data into networks – such as patient care records to the NHS IT infrastructure, Spine – and how a solution like Deep3’s Safe Data Import service can mitigate against cyber threats.

If you’d like to join us for CyNam 19.2, the networking and speaking session is taking place Tuesday 4th June. For this event, we have collaborated with the Cheltenham Science Festival, and it will be held inside the festival’s Helix Theatre in Imperial Square Gardens. Thank you! CyNam community raises over £400 for the Pied Piper Appeal

Attendees of the CyNam 19.1 event in March may remember that we chose to support local children’s charity the Pied Piper Appeal. To date, donations to the appeal’s Just Giving page (https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/cynam191) have now reached £409.

Thank you once again to everybody at the event who donated – the money raised by the CyNam community went towards the purchase two new iPads for the Children’s Ward of Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. If you would like to further help us to reach our £1,500 fundraising target, we’d welcome any additional donations.
